If costs are rising, using FIFO would cause the recorded COGS to be lower in the near term. The higher COGS results in a reduced net income for those earlier periods.

Three days after the event, an Indian government helicopter observed several of them, who shot arrows and threw stones at the hovering aircraft with the apparent intent of repelling it. The Sentinelese survived the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and its after-effects, including the tsunami and the uplifting of the island. There is no evidence of either agricultural practices or methods of producing fire, making them the only known paleolithic people left in the world. From what is known about them, they are an essentially hunter-gatherer society subsisting through hunting, fishing, and collecting wild plants. The population of Sentinelese living on North Sentinel Island is between 50 and 400 individuals and they are noted for resisting attempts at contact by outsiders. It is home to the the Sentinelese, who are among the last people to remain virtually untouched by modern civilization. North Sentinel Island is an island in the Bay of Bengal, between India to the west, and Myanmar, to the north and east. Indian visits to the island ceased in 1997. The first peaceful contact with the Sentinelese was made by Trilokinath Pandit, a director of the Anthropological Survey of India, and his colleagues in 1991. Indian exploratory parties under orders to establish friendly relations with the Sentinelese have made brief landings on the island every few years beginning in 1967. North Sentinel Island is the only known place on earth where there are humans who haven’t past the Stone Age, and they’re believed to still live a hunter gatherer lifestyle. In 1880, an expedition was sent to North Sentinel Island and the visit party found a network of pathways and several small, abandoned villages. The 72-square-kilometre-area North Sentinel Island is home to the fiercely independent Sentinelese tribe, known to reject any contact with outsiders. They were eventually found by a Royal Navy rescue party. The surviving passengers and crewmen landed on the beach and fended off attacks by the Sentinelese. In 1897, the Nineveh, an Indian merchant ship, was wrecked on a reef near the island. Several attempts at contact have been made (or accidentally been made) over the years. Remove plastic wrap, roll it in a shallow plate of your toppings (like freshly chopped herbs and nuts) then serve! Refrigerate until firm or ready to serve. Then fold over the plastic wrap around the cheese ball and continue to shape it into a ball. I spritz clean hands with nonstick baking spray and mold it into a round ball. I use a spatula to scrape off the bowl and combine all of the cream cheese and salmon mixture onto a sheet of plastic wrap. Use plastic wrap to help you mold your cheese ball. Here are a few recommended tips for making your cheese ball… You can add in other herbs too, like parsley, rosemary, thyme or even green onion.Ĭhopped Nuts: I love pecans in this smoked salmon cheese ball, but I’ve also made it with walnuts too! Use whatever nuts you have on hand.Īs for the toppings, get creative! I use fresh herbs and chopped nuts, but you could add sesame seeds, poppy seeds, everything bagel seasoning, shredded cheddar cheese, etc. Feel free to take it one step further and add 1/2 tsp of lemon zest or lemon pepper seasoning if you like lemon too!ĭill: Fresh dill, diced, is so perfect for adding to the outside of the cheese ball. Lemon Juice: I love a touch of lemon with the salmon. Horseradish: A little spice from the horseradish pairs well with the creamy cheese ball. Worcestershire Sauce: I love the depth of flavor this gives the salmon ball! Salmon is naturally salty, so add more salt to taste if you find it necessary. It’s a must!īlack Pepper: I recommend a good course ground black pepper, but any kind will do! You might be wondering about salt. Garlic Powder: I add garlic powder to almost all my cheese balls. Red Onion: The bite of the red onion is so delicious in this cheese ball! You can substitute in a white or yellow onion or even green onion as well. If you can’t find canned smoked salmon, regular canned salmon is also fine, just add in a teaspoon of liquid smoke for that smoky flavor.Ĭream Cheese: I recommend a full fat, regular block cream cheese here so that it’s firm enough to help your cheese ball stay in a round shape. However, canned smoked salmon also works well here. My preference is fresh salmon fillet that’s been smoked, skin removed, deboned and flaked with a fork. This is the most popular question for this salmon recipe, what kind of salmon should I use in my salmon cheese ball? Well I’m here to tell you, almost any kind will do. Salmon Cheese Ball Ingredient Notes: What’s the Best Salmon to Use? FLAVORFUL: No boring appetizers allowed, this salmon ball packs the flavor!.VERSATILE: Use fresh smoked salmon or swap in canned salmon in a pinch.EASY: Prep in advance and pull it out when guests arrive!. That is an astonishing 23-foot improvement over the Versa 1.8 we tested, which also had ABS.įrom the captain’s chair, it appears that hard plastics dominate the stark interior, but compared with, say, the Dodge Caliber, the Versa feels more like a Mercedes-Benz than the bargain appliance it is. (We wish the Versa were available with stability control, but it’s not, at any price.) Even with a soft brake pedal and doughnut-sized 185/65R-14 Bridgestone B381 tires (the rims are just five inches wide), the Versa 1.6 halted from 70 mph in an impressive 172 feet. We highly recommend that anyone purchasing the Versa 1.6 spring for the ABS package, as it’s a nominal fee for one of the best safety technologies since the invention of the seatbelt. The steering isn’t particularly talkative, although it comes alive a bit once you’re off-center. The Versa 1.6 comfortably coasted over our torn-up Michigan roads better than some cars twice its price, and body roll was kept to a minimum. However, the clutch actually feels a bit better than the one in our previous 2007 Altima long-termer.Īlthough the EPA estimates 26 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway for the manual 1.6 (the automatic is rated 1 mpg less on the highway), wintry-weather wheelspin combined with some aggressive acceleration netted us only 24 mpg overall. The shifter is well positioned but does have the typical Nissan clunkiness, and the clutch takeup is still a bit numb. The 1.6 makes up for the lost power by shedding the excess weight of such luxuries as power windows. Ringing in at 9.1 seconds from 0 to 60 mph and 17 seconds in the quarter-mile at 81 mph, the 1.6 is only 0.1 second slower in both sprints than the last Versa 1.8 we tested. With all 107 hp only available near redline, you might think it would take the better part of a week to reach 60 mph. The 1.6 only comes prewired with four speakers to accept a dealer-installed or aftermarket head unit, an addition we highly recommend-you can only talk to yourself for so long before you go nuts. Music? Forget about it, since there’s no radio. We tested a fully loaded (!) Versa 1.6 manual with ABS and floor mats, which came to a grand total of $12,090. Spend an extra $1000 to upgrade from the Base car to the 1.6 trim, and you’ll get standard air conditioning and the choice of keeping the manual transmission or adding a four-speed automatic at no charge. The only options available on the Base are your choice of four exterior colors, anti-lock brakes for $250, and floor and trunk mats for $155. Mated only to a five-speed manual gearbox, the 1.6 Base comes standard with six airbags, front-seat active head restraints, and a tire-pressure monitoring system for a base price of $10,685. Both are powered by a 1.6-liter inline four-cylinder with 107 hp at 6000 rpm and 111 lb-ft of torque at 4600 rpm, down 15 hp and 17 lb-ft from the 1.8-liter used in other Versas. It comes in two very basic versions, the 1.6 Base and the 1.6. The 1.6 is essentially a Versa with a smaller engine and almost no creature comforts. Nissan has a solution: the Versa 1.6, the cheapest brand-spankin’-new sedan in America. You prefer the warm comfort of a factory-backed three-year/36,000-mile warranty but don’t have a whole lot of coin to spend. The economy is tanking, your car is following suit, and taking the risk on a used car is a little too unsettling. You might be able to connect to the network, but you won’t be able to access any internet services. -80 dBm – This signal strength is highly unreliable. With this value, you won’t even be able to connect to the Wi-Fi network. -90 dBm – This is the weakest Wi-Fi signal strength. Here’s a breakdown of the dBm scale ranges and what they mean for your Wi-Fi signal strength. Anything between -67 dBm and -30 dBm should serve you well enough. The ideal signal strength should be -30 dBm but don’t worry if your Wi-Fi signal is not that strong. The dBm scale ranges from -30 dBm to -90 bBm. How to Check Your Wi-Fi Signal Strength on an iPhone in dBmĭecibels per milliwatt, also known as dBm, is a standard unit for measuring the signal strength of a Wi-Fi signal. If some lines are grayed out, then your Wi-Fi signal is weak. The more lines that are filled, the stronger your Wi-Fi signal. In most devices, you can find this symbol at the top or bottom-right corner of the screen. How to Check Your Wi-Fi Signal Strength on an iPhoneĪ more straightforward way of checking your Wi-Fi connection is by looking at the number of filled lines in the Wi-Fi symbol. It’s important to know how to check your exact Wi-Fi signal strength to determine if that’s the culprit behind slower internet connections. The farther you are from the router, the weaker your Wi-Fi signal is and vice versa. The strength of your Wi-Fi connection mostly depends on the distance between you and the router or the hotspot device. If you notice your internet connection becoming slow, the culprit is likely a weak Wi-Fi signal. I believe that quite a few people attempted to use Sherwood back then to attempt to traffic children. I digress, I just wanted to make a post regarding the creepy shit I witnessed as a kid on the game and was wondering if anyone had the same experience. There wasn’t too much competition either (Stuff like Club Penguin, Adventure Quest, maybe even Toontown you could say were in the same market but even those weren’t hard-leaning fantasy MMOs like Sherwood was.) When you’d teleport to a different map there were just hundreds and hundreds of players, the game was hot amongst kids at the time cause it like one of the only free, in-browser easy access MMOs back in the late 2000s. I remember every time I’d join the hub with the castle place there was always a clan meeting up with dozens at the main “square”, and dozens more running around. I’m sure the game is like dead dead now, but back in 2008ish I was a kid and played it all the time, and it was sprawling, there were so many people playing. Randomly today this super old MMO popped in my head from long ago, and after searching this game in this subreddit to reminisce, a handful of you have remembered this game as well for being a pretty popular, crappy MMO back in like the late 2000s. DARK MODE NORMAL THEME Rules Anything and everything for your Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Gaming needs! I've probably had most of my deaths from these two enemies. Revenant are deadly with its homing missiles. The chaingunners despite being weak are seriously some of the deadliest enemies in all of doom. With the exception of the hell knight, which is just a weaker reskin of the Baron of hell, all the new enemies all bring in something unique. The best part is despite the fact that it's so good I still find plenty of uses for the other guns. Its so satisfying and it never gets boring. The loading animation, the sound, the speed, the spread. It's so useful I measure enemy health by how many SS shots it takes to kill an enemy. Cacodemon problems? 2 hits, it's dead in a matter of seconds. Rockets are suicide in close quarters and bfg/plasma is pretty rare/situational. Trying to gun down a cacodemon with a shotgun or chaingun feels tedious. Playing through Sigil (John Romero's newest official maps for doom 1) made me realize that. The lack of the super shotgun and new enemies is what really hurts doom 1 for me.ĭoom 1 problem is that there's this gap in damage output. While I do agree that doom 1 by far has the better level design, asethitic, and atmosphere. But the original Doom was the one that nailed it. All in all, Doom II is still a great game. I did not appreciate the enemy placement and level design in Doom II that much which felt lazy rather than the result of careful planning. I understand how Doom felt more claustrophobic and some might prefer the more open space feeling in Doom II. Playing Doom II, right after the Doom, I was not impressed by the level design as much as I was about the first game. Enemy placement and the pacing were excellent. With some exceptions, levels in the first game were all carefully designed. I, however, side with the unpopular opinion that the original game is better than its sequel. On paper, Doom II should be the better game and is often regarded as such. The game introduces an additional weapon, the iconic double-barreled shotgun and many new monsters. Doom II is a safe bet for anyone who enjoyed the original game, considering it has the same graphics and gameplay as its predecessor.
